November 29, 2012

At the recent Public Health Association of BC conference, the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS was invited to share successes and lessons from the ongoing HIV Quality Improvement Network; an initiative led by the BC-CfE.

Relevant to the conference theme of aligning primary care and public health in the pursuit of health for all, Christina Clarke – project director for the Network – shared a number of relevant lessons and concepts that have emerged from the learning and sharing network of approximately 200 providers, patients, and quality improvement experts from around BC.

Some of these concepts included the importance of the Triple Aim, distributive leadership, listening to the patient voice, and using data for local level improvements.
