Dr. Julio Montaner, clinical director of the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV-AIDS, is furious that the RCMP funded "bogus" research on the Insite safe-injection facility and tried to pass it off as peer-reviewed science.
Montaner charged that the RCMP has tried to "sabotage" Insite, despite evidence that the facility is preventing deaths due to drug overdoses and is slowing the spread of AIDS infection in the Downtown Eastside.
Montaner also demanded an apology from the RCMP for e-mails released Wednesday by the Pivot Legal Society that show former RCMP Const. Chuck Doucette calling the world-renowned AIDS research agency "the Centre for Excrements." More >>
