HIV drug resistance rates fall in B.C.

People being treated for HIV are less likely now to develop drug-resistant infections, according to a British Columbia study on changes in drug therapy.

"Our results demonstrate that there has been a drastic decrease in the incidence of new cases of HIV-1 drug resistance," Dr. Richard Harrigan of the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and his colleagues concluded in a study reported in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. More >>
